Chinese robotics company AGIBOT and resort operator Chimelong Group have rolled out the first stage of an embodied AI project at Chimelong Spaceship Park, introducing more than 300 robots into daily park operations.

The deployment spans seven distinct visitor settings, covering live entertainment, science education, guided tours, retail stations, AI companions, hotel operations and sports competitions. Rather than remaining static exhibits, the machines actively perform martial arts, tai chi and gymnastics, while assisting guests with hands-on activities such as table tennis. They also provide directions, answer questions and conduct tour guidance throughout the venue.

In hotel environments, the robots greet arriving visitors, hold multi-turn conversations and deliver personalised interactions. Stage performances integrate robotic movement alongside human actors, music and lighting.

The rollout coincided with AGIBOT delivering its 20,000th production robot to Chimelong, linking a key manufacturing benchmark to its largest commercial tourism deployment to date.

To coordinate the units across high-traffic areas, AGIBOT, Chimelong and China Mobile established a dedicated 5G-A network. Centralised systems handle multi-robot management alongside operational safeguards for fire safety, battery charging, network security and data privacy.

AGIBOT and Chimelong have also formed a joint research institute to study embodied AI within cultural tourism. The institute will examine operational data from the park to develop new applications and operating standards for broader commercial adoption.
