Hyatt Hotels Corporation (NYSE: H) has officially launched Grand Hyatt The Red Sea on Shura Island, marking the eighth Hyatt-branded hotel in Saudi Arabia and the second within The Red Sea development.
Designed as a central hub on the island, the 430-room resort is equipped to host large-scale events, family holidays and corporate gatherings. The property includes five meeting rooms, a Junior Ballroom and the Grand Ballroom, which stands as the largest event space on Shura Island.
The development relies on the Coral Bloom concept created by Foster + Partners, incorporating design features shaped by local marine life. Recycled fishing nets were used to craft canopy structures that offer shade and reflect reef forms. Interior spaces, created by Muza Lab under The Reef Flower Garden concept, feature ocean-inspired tones, smart room technology and private outdoor spaces. Select accommodations also include private pools and dedicated villa options.
Stephen Ansell, Managing Director, Middle East and Africa, Hyatt, said:
“The opening of Grand Hyatt The Red Sea is a significant milestone for Hyatt in the Kingdom and comes just months after Miraval The Red Sea welcomed guests earlier this year. Together, these openings reflect our pace and ambition for growing our brands in Saudi Arabia, while giving World of Hyatt members even more ways to experience this extraordinary destination across two distinctive Hyatt brands. We are proud to be playing a role in bringing Shura Island’s vision to life.”
Jean-Francois Durand, General Manager at Grand Hyatt The Red Sea, said:
“It is an honor to welcome guests to Grand Hyatt The Red Sea. Shura Island is unlike anywhere else, and we’ve designed every part of the experience, from our rooms and pools to our nine dining venues, to reflect the vibrancy and beauty of this incredible destination. We can’t wait to share it with the rest of the world.”
The resort contains nine food and beverage concepts. Venues currently open include live-fire restaurant Embers and the poolside Drift Pool Bar. Seven additional locations will open later, including The Amalfi Club, Café Maude French bistro, Havana Social, Charcoal Tandoor Fire Grill and El Ta’koy Hawaiian street food by Chef Luis Pous, along with Akira Back Korean BBQ and 2am: dessert bar by pastry chef Janice Wong.
Wellness facilities across the property include five swimming pools, a 5,380-square-foot (500-square-meter) fitness centre and the 8,070-square-foot (750-square-meter) Ethereal Spa featuring VOYA products across 12 treatment rooms.
