Design Hotels has announced its largest single expansion to date after signing an agreement to add 16 boutique properties managed by the US hospitality group Palisociety to its global network.

The transaction integrates a collection of independent hotels spanning nine destinations in the United States. The properties represent more than 1,000 corporate hotel keys across major American hospitality markets.

Design Hotels is a subsidiary of Marriott International and operates a global alliance of more than 300 independent, design-focused locations. The boutique brand expects to pass the milestone of 100 hotels across the Americas this year following steady portfolio growth throughout 2025.

The newly added properties include Palihouse West Hollywood (95 keys), Palihotel Melrose (33 keys), Palihotel San Francisco (82 keys), Palihotel Westwood Village (54 keys), Palihotel Palm Springs (116 keys), Palihotel Hollywood (74 keys) and Palihotel Seattle (96 keys). The deal also encompasses smaller boutique sites including Le Petit Pali Brentwood (25 keys), Le Petit Pali St. Helena (29 keys) and Le Petit Pali Laguna Beach (41 keys). Additionally, the ARRIVE brand properties in Albuquerque (137 keys), Palm Springs (32 keys), Wilmington (34 keys) and Memphis (62 keys) are included alongside the Silver Lake Pool & Inn (54 keys) and The Hôtel Lili Beverly Hills (44 keys).

The partnership allows the property owners to utilise the marketing and operational infrastructure of Design Hotels. This covers digital marketing, public relations, web design, content creation and global distribution networks. The member hotels will also be integrated into the Marriott Bonvoy loyalty platform over the coming months.

Stijn Oyen, Managing Director of Design Hotels, said: “Design Hotels has always been a home for founders, visionaries, and original thinkers. Avi Brosh and Kirsten Leigh Pratt have built Palisociety with the same independent mindset that defines our global community – creating hotels with character, cultural relevance, and a genuine connection to place. The alignment between our brands was immediate. We share a belief that great hospitality is personal, distinctive, and shaped by the people behind it, making this collaboration a natural evolution for both brands.”

Palisociety was launched in Los Angeles in 2008 by founder Avi Brosh and operates over 20 hotels, residences and restaurants. The company organises its assets across five sub-brands which are Palihouse, Palihotel, Le Petit Pali, ARRIVE by Palisociety and various independent bespoke titles.

Avi Brosh, Founder of Palisociety, said: “Design Hotels has long been a symbol of creativity, vision and inspired hospitality in the industry, and we are thrilled to introduce our collection of hotels into their portfolio. Palisociety has always been driven by our love of design, culture and independence, and this agreement feels like a natural extension of those shared passions that hotel enthusiasts will undoubtedly appreciate.”

Corporate executives noted that the agreement highlights the continuing commercial growth of the independent boutique sector across the international hospitality market.
