A prominent American property firm has launched a major expansion into the Texas housing market as part of its ongoing national growth strategy.

GID, which manages 32.8 billion dollars in real estate assets, confirmed the formal launch of GID Residential Partners in the region. The state operation will be directed by Matt Miller, who joins the business as Senior Managing Director.

The firm is targeting regions where key economic indicators, such as rising populations, employment gains and high housing demand, create strong conditions for residential investment. Miller arrives with more than seven years of sector experience across Oklahoma and Texas. He previously held the role of Vice President of Development for Dallas Fort-Worth at Wood Partners and oversaw the regional operations of Quarterra Group. Over his career, Miller has managed 15 communities, delivered 4,200 rental properties and overseen 800 million dollars in multifamily schemes.

“GID believes that Texas has long been one of the most compelling markets for multifamily development in the country, and we are excited to formalize our presence there as we continue scaling GID Residential Partners,” said Sean Caldwell, President of GID Residential Partners.

The residential unit utilises the group’s fully integrated internal structure, covering design, building work, development and property management. Since its establishment last year, the group has secured a development pipeline of roughly 3,500 properties across Houston, Austin, Atlanta and Denver.

Company executives stated that local experience is vital to their strategy as they enter high-priority areas. John Gagnier, President of GID Development, stated: “Texas is a natural fit for our residential platform, underpinned by strong population growth, robust job creation and sustained housing demand.”

The business has previously delivered major US schemes, including Waterline Square in New York, High Street in Atlanta, and the Cirrus and Stratus towers in Seattle. The property group is currently targeting further regional growth across Georgia, Florida and the Mid-Atlantic, with subsequent plans to move into the Northeast, Southeast, Southwest and West.

“GID’s vertically-integrated platform and clear vision for national growth made this an outstanding opportunity,” said Matt Miller. “I look forward to leveraging my experience across the Texas market to help build a strong pipeline and deliver high-quality communities that meet the region’s growing demand for housing.”
