Property technology company Zillow has announced a major executive reshuffle to strengthen the development of its housing super app platform. The adjustments include a key dual appointment, a strategic external hire and two internal senior promotions.
Jeremy Hofmann has taken on the role of Chief Operating Officer alongside his existing duties as Chief Financial Officer. Hofmann joined the firm nine years ago and took over the finance director role in 2023. In his expanded position, he will handle day-to-day operational execution and financial planning, reporting to Chief Executive Officer Jeremy Wacksman.
The structural shift follows the departure of former Chief Operating Officer Jun Choo, who is stepping down to focus on his health. Choo will remain with the business in an advisory position until the end of December 2026.
Former Google executive Cassandra “Sandi” Knight will join the firm next week as its first Chief Legal and Policy Officer. Knight previously worked as Vice President of Litigation and Discovery at Google, overseeing legal matters surrounding emerging technology. She also held senior litigation positions at PayPal and Morgan Stanley during a twenty-year career. Knight will lead the legal, compliance and government relations operations, reporting directly to Wacksman.
Zillow has also promoted two internal executives to Senior Vice President positions. Katie Berroth moves up to Senior Vice President of Strategy and Operations, taking charge of partnerships, cross-functional operations and business strategy. Eric Wilson has been appointed Senior Vice President and General Manager of Mortgages, taking full control of Zillow Home Loans. Both Berroth and Wilson will report directly to Hofmann.
The strategic changes aim to align operations across the business as Zillow works to integrate services for home buyers, sellers, renters and real estate agents.
