Real assets manager ESR has chosen Dalmar Sheikh to head its digital infrastructure division as Chief Executive Officer of ESR Data Centres. The appointment takes effect on 1 September 2026.

Sheikh will base his operations in Singapore, taking responsibility for the strategy, business performance and international expansion of the division. He takes charge of expanding ESR’s platform to serve growing demand from enterprise clients and hyperscale operators throughout the Asia-Pacific region.

The company views its data centre operations as a primary growth driver. ESR currently manages a development pipeline exceeding 3.2 GW across major Asia-Pacific locations, with significant projects in Japan, South Korea and Australia. Rising adoption rates for cloud computing, artificial intelligence and other digital technologies continue to drive demand for data centre assets in these markets.

In his new position, Sheikh will oversee the delivery of the existing development pipeline while building relationships with investors, customers and sector partners. He will also focus on securing new growth avenues for the platform. The appointment forms part of ESR’s strategy to strengthen its management capabilities as it scales up its real assets business across the region.

Sheikh brings more than two decades of industry experience in data centres, technology and digital infrastructure. He joins the firm from CtrlS Datacenters, where he worked as Chief Operating Officer. His career also includes senior management positions at DataSphere Advisory, Actis and Amazon Web Services, where he managed the development and operation of digital infrastructure platforms in Asia-Pacific and international markets.
