Minor Hotels has launched the Colbert Collection, a new global premium brand debuting in Italy in spring 2026. Inspired by iconic European bistros, the collection focuses on independent hotels that prioritise cultural and culinary expression. This move marks a shift towards asset-light growth, allowing independent owners to access global distribution systems while maintaining their unique local identity across future sites in the UK, Spain, Austria and the UAE.
Marriott International is expanding its midscale presence in Europe through the debut of its Series by Marriott brand. The launch involves 11 new projects across the United Kingdom and Italy in partnership with Splendid Hospitality Group and Amapa Group. This move follows the global introduction of the collection brand in 2025. The new properties will focus on providing reliable and locally inspired accommodation for modern travellers.
Hyatt has opened Masana Algarve, the first Destination by Hyatt resort in Portugal. Located in Albufeira, the property features 33 high-end residences designed for coastal living. The launch is part of Hyatt’s goal to triple its Portuguese presence by 2027. The resort offers residents and guests upscale dining, a holistic spa and proximity to the region’s iconic cliffs and traditional fishing heritage.
Minor Hotels has announced the global launch of The Wolseley Hotels, with its first property opening in New York City in 2027. Located in Midtown Manhattan, the flagship will occupy a historic 1905 landmark. The development features 76 rooms and the first United States location of the celebrated Wolseley restaurant, marking a major milestone in the brand’s international expansion.
Hilton has announced the debut of its Motto by Hilton brand in Australia with a new property in Sydney’s central business district. The signing of Motto by Hilton Sydney City Centre marks the introduction of Hilton’s seventh brand to the Australian market. Scheduled to open in late 2027, the hotel will offer 152 rooms with a focus on flexible design and social communal spaces for travellers.
Marriott International has signed a landmark agreement with KS Hotels to introduce The Luxury Collection to Cambodia and Laos. The deal involves rebranding two storied properties, La Résidence Angkor and La Résidence Phou Vao, marking Marriott’s first hotel in Laos. Both heritage sites will undergo thoughtful upgrades before reopening in 2026 and 2027 to offer elevated luxury in these major UNESCO World Heritage destinations.
