Chedi Hospitality has announced the promotion of Stephan Schupbach to President & Group Chief Executive Officer. This elevation signals a new and important phase of international expansion for the Group, a global curator of hotels, resorts, and branded residences distinguished by design.
The appointment reflects the Board’s confidence in Mr Schupbach’s strategic direction as the Group prepares for further global growth. With over thirty years of experience in the luxury hospitality sector, Mr Schupbach has held top leadership roles across recognised hotel groups, enhancing guest experiences across Europe, the US, the Middle East, and Asia.
Since joining Chedi Hospitality, he has been central to advancing the Group’s global strategy. He has also worked to strengthen its key relationships with owners, partners, and development stakeholders. In his new, expanded capacity, Mr Schupbach will be responsible for setting the long-term strategic direction. He will also guide the brand vision and oversee the integrated performance of the company’s entire portfolio of hospitality and branded residences. His leadership will maintain a clear focus on commercial alignment, thoughtful growth, and delivering the culturally grounded, design-forward experiences that are core to the Chedi brand.
The Chairman of the Board stated, “Stephan’s appointment reflects the Board’s confidence in his leadership and in the future direction of Chedi Hospitality. His strategic insight, commitment to excellence, and ability to unite teams around a shared purpose have reinforced our momentum globally. We look forward to the next phase of growth under his guidance.”
Mr Schupbach is set to oversee several strategic initiatives to support Chedi Hospitality’s expansion plans. These include the launch of a new Chedi boutique brand. This brand will extend the Group’s design-led and culturally attuned philosophy into new market segments. Additionally, he will drive the creation of a dedicated F&B Business Vertical. This division will focus on developing signature culinary brands and standalone concepts. The aim is to strengthen Chedi Hospitality’s presence across key markets and lifestyle-driven sectors.
These efforts are part of the Group’s broader ambition to enhance its global footprint. This will be done while preserving the principles of authenticity, craftsmanship, and immersive cultural storytelling that define the Chedi legacy. Moving forward, Mr Schupbach will continue to focus on long-term value creation, meaningful partnerships, and a commitment to contemporary luxury shaped by a deep sense of place. Further updates on upcoming brand launches and development milestones are expected to be shared in the coming months.
