KKR has committed $350 million from its Asset-Based Finance strategy to launch Akrapoint Commercial Capital. The mid-ticket equipment finance company will provide solutions for small and middle-market businesses in sectors such as manufacturing, construction and transportation. Led by Chief Executive Officer Nate Smith and Board Chair Gary Shivers, the platform targets growing demand for vocational assets, speciality trailers and industrial equipment across the US.
Global investment firm Sixth Street has formed a co-operative agreement with Lloyds to fund the UK commercial real estate sector. The partnership will deploy Sixth Street's Asset Based Finance platform to provide property borrowers with scaled, flexible financing. The deal combines Sixth Street's London-based finance and global real estate teams to expand lending opportunities across the country while maintaining strict underwriting standards.
