The architecture practice Snøhetta has revealed designs for Sweetbird North, an 8-story mixed-use development in the Miami Design District. The 120,000 square foot project for Raycliff Capital features workspace, retail units and a hurricane-resistant stainless steel mesh façade. The scheme marks a structural shift toward greater density in the area, incorporating integrated vertical gardens and outdoor office terraces.
Saudi Downtown Company has signed a major agreement with national firm Ansab Company. The deal covers the comprehensive design and construction of critical infrastructure works for the Downtown Al Khobar project. The contract will focus on developing roads, implementation networks and street lighting to build an integrated urban environment that supports long term economic growth in the region.
Skanska has secured a SEK 370 million contract with Lundbergs Fastigheter to build four rental apartment buildings in Jönköping. The project in Södra Munksjön will feature commercial spaces, underground parking and a total gross area of over 21,700 square meters. Construction starts in mid-2026, with completion scheduled before the end of 2028 under the Miljöbyggnad Silver environmental standard.
Boutique property venture Art Deco Freak has launched a dual-market residential transformation model in Pittsburgh and Los Angeles. Founded by entrepreneur Lauren Papa, DC, the firm specialises in turning distressed architectural assets into high-end single-family homes. The strategy avoids standard renovation formulas, focusing instead on historical preservation, upcycled materials, sustainable infrastructure and asset-specific repositioning to deliver premium turnkey properties.
Wold Architects & Engineers has acquired Nashville-based architecture firm JJCA. The move strengthens both firms' ability to serve communities across the United States by combining Wold’s extensive engineering resources with JJCA’s deep expertise in healthcare and education design. Leadership from both companies will remain actively involved to ensure continuity for existing clients.
Alramz Real Estate has entered into a SAR 91 million agreement with PIF-owned ROSHN Group to develop two residential plots in Riyadh. Spanning 14,128 sqm within the SEDRA community, the project will deliver an estimated 240 new homes. This strategic deal includes all design and construction works, following the high standards of the ROSHN masterplan. The project is expected to boost Alramz’s financial performance through 2028.
