The Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) has chosen Minor Hotels to manage the Sharjah Collection, a regional portfolio of seven eco-focused boutique properties. The international operator will integrate the coastal, desert and mountain retreats into its luxury network after a series of upgrades, boosting global reach while protecting local heritage.
Oman and Türkiye have signed a memorandum of understanding to cooperate on housing and urban planning initiatives following a bilateral summit in Ankara. Omani Housing Minister H.E. Dr. Khalfan bin Said Al Shueili met with Turkish Minister H.E. Murat Kurum to establish a development framework. The partnership will focus on smart cities, sustainable design and real estate finance.
Starwood Capital Group has completed the final closing of its latest global opportunistic real estate fund, Starwood Distressed Opportunity Fund XIII, securing over $10.2 billion in capital commitments. Supported by more than 300 institutional and private investors across 20 countries, the fund has already deployed $3 billion into data centers, housing and industrial assets across the US, Europe and Asia.
Bridgepoint has agreed to buy US investment platform Kayne Anderson Real Estate for an upfront enterprise value of $1.393 billion. The deal adds real estate as a fifth investment vertical for the mid-market investor, expanding its total assets under management to approximately $117 billion. The transaction is expected to close at the end of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals.
Commercial real estate finance firm Greystone has named industry veteran Nicholas M. Gesue as Chief Operating Officer. Based in New York, Mr Gesue brings 25 years of platform-building experience to oversee the company's daily lending, servicing and asset management divisions. He joins following senior executive roles at NewPoint Real Estate Capital, ORIX Real Estate Capital and Lument Capital.
The Egyptian Kuwaiti Real Estate Development Company and Hassan Allam Holding subsidiary Grova West have partnered to build a mixed-use project in West Cairo. Spanning 295 acres in Sheikh Zayed City, the venture represents an investment expected to exceed EGP 250 billion. The development will feature a blend of residential apartments, villas, commercial spaces and medical facilities managed entirely by Grova West.
