Bangkok is set to reclaim its title as a global culinary capital this autumn. The celebrated World Gourmet Festival returns to the Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel from 29 September to 4 October. This year the event adopts the theme “The World of Flavours.” It promises an extensive journey through international cuisines and techniques.

The festival acts as a major gathering for the hospitality industry. It brings together a high-profile collective of internationally acclaimed chefs and regional stars alongside local culinary figures. Experts from the Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel will also join the lineup to support the various planned experiences. This year the schedule focuses on the diversity of global food culture through distinctive flavours and cultural influences.

Attendees can choose from a variety of curated programmes. The lineup includes exclusive dining events led by global experts and multi-chef collaborative menus. There will also be interactive activations, live showcases and a weekend brunch to close the ceremony. For those interested in industry trends, the festival will host panel discussions featuring gastronomic visionaries and business leaders.

A significant addition to the 2024 programme is the Young Chef’s Award. This is the first time the festival has introduced an initiative specifically for emerging local talent. The award will function as a competition. It allows young chefs to present their creativity and vision to a panel of international and local judges.

The upcoming event follows the success of last year’s 25th edition. That landmark festival featured nearly 30 Michelin stars and hosted chefs including Eric Vildgaard, Dave Pynt and Vaughan Mabee. The previous year included thirteen solo dinners and eight collaborative experiences. It helped define the city’s dining scene with immersive food art and city-wide bar takeovers.

While specific names for this year are yet to be announced, the event remains a cornerstone for tourism in Thailand. It continues to position Bangkok and the Anantara Siam as a primary hub for world-class dining. More details regarding the specific chef lineup and ticketing are expected to be released shortly.
