Hilton has confirmed the debut of its iconic luxury brand in Greece with the signing of the Waldorf Astoria Scarlet Bay. The company has entered a management agreement with Royal Group Holding for the property, which is scheduled to welcome its first guests in 2029.

The resort will be situated on a beachfront location in the Peloponnese region. This southern Greek peninsula is renowned for its rugged coastline, beautiful beaches, and historical significance, including the ancient site of Olympia, the birthplace of the Olympic Games.

The Waldorf Astoria Scarlet Bay is set to offer 121 expansive guest rooms and suites. All accommodations will feature stunning sea views, designed with elegant touches to ensure privacy and comfort for travellers. The development will also include branded residences across 13 separate villas.

Facilities at the property will include a dedicated Waldorf Astoria spa for wellness experiences. Guests will have access to both indoor and outdoor pools, with the main outdoor pool providing spectacular views towards the majestic island of Spetses. Other amenities comprise a tennis court, fitness centre, and a kids club.

Culinary offerings will be a key focus, featuring the brand’s legendary Peacock Alley, a signature restaurant, a beach club restaurant, a lobby lounge, and a coffee shop. The hotel’s elegant service will include a personal concierge assigned to every guest to manage details and curate unforgettable experiences.

Dan Wakeling, vice president, Development, Luxury & Residences, EMEA, Hilton, commented: “We’re thrilled to be announcing our first Waldorf Astoria hotel in Greece – a destination that perfectly complements the brand’s legacy of timeless elegance and refined luxury. This debut marks a significant milestone for Hilton as we continue to rapidly expand our presence across Greece, where we now have more than 60 hotels trading and pipeline under eight brands and through Hilton’s partnership with SLH. Known for its rich cultural heritage, natural beauty, fantastic food and welcoming people, Greece is a world class destination, and we’re excited to be further building our portfolio here with this stunning luxury hotel.”

The resort will mark the first Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts property in Greece, adding to the brand’s presence in nearly 20 countries globally.
