AmanahRaya Real Estate Investment Trust (AmanahRaya REIT) has announced that its flagship asset, Vista Tower, has been awarded the GreenRE Silver Certification under the Existing Non-Residential Building (ENRB v3.3) category.

The certification, issued by the Real Estate and Housing Developers’ Association (REHDA) Malaysia, is one of the country’s leading benchmarks for green building standards. It recognises properties that demonstrate strong environmental performance and adopt practices designed to reduce carbon emissions, conserve resources, and improve the quality of living and working spaces.

Vista Tower received the accolade following a Site Verification Assessment (SVA) carried out by GreenRE, which reviewed the building’s sustainability initiatives across six key pillars: energy efficiency, water efficiency, carbon reduction, environmental protection, indoor environmental quality, and other green features.

The certification not only strengthens AmanahRaya REIT’s environmental, social, and governance (ESG) credentials but also enhances Vista Tower’s market positioning at a time when demand from tenants and investors for environmentally responsible assets continues to grow.

The achievement forms part of AmanahRaya REIT’s wider ESG roadmap, which focuses on environmental stewardship, social impact, and strong governance structures. The trust said these principles are central to its transformation strategy and future growth, as it works to build a portfolio that is both resilient and aligned with global sustainability standards.

AmanahRaya REIT, listed on Bursa Malaysia since 2007, manages a diversified portfolio of 12 properties across Malaysia, including office towers, retail complexes, hotels, industrial buildings, and educational institutions. The total fair value of its portfolio stood at RM1.297 billion as of December 2024.

AmanahRaya-Kenedix REIT Manager Sdn. Bhd. (‘AKRM’), a joint venture between Amanah Raya Berhad and KDA Capital Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. (KDA Capital’) was established on May 8, 2009. It assumed management of AmanahRaya Real Estate Investment Trust (AmanahRaya REIT) from the previous manager, AmanahRaya-JMF Asset Management Sdn. Bhd. (now AmanahRaya Investment Management Sdn. Bhd.), on 27 August 2009.

As of 31 December 2024, AKRM has an authorised share capital of RM5 million and a paid-up share capital of RM1.5 million. Kenedix, Inc., through KDA Capital, made a significant investment in AKRM, acquiring a 49% stake, while Amanah Raya Berhad retains a controlling 51% share. KDA Capital also holds 15% of the units of AmanahRaya REIT.

AKRM’s core responsibility is to manage AmanahRaya REIT’s investment strategies, aiming to achieve stable and sustainable returns for its unitholders. This involves overseeing the trust’s investment objectives and ensuring that the portfolio delivers consistent performance and value to investors.
