The Hanoi People’s Committee held a groundbreaking ceremony on 9 October 2026 for the Ba Vi Safari Park, a major project representing an investment exceeding 6,500 billion VND. The event formed part of 18 key projects launched and inaugurated to mark the 72nd anniversary of the Liberation of Hanoi on 10 October. Attendees included Politburo member and Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Tran Duc Thang, Standing Deputy Secretary Nguyen Trong Dong and Chairman Vu Dai Thang.
Developer Sun Group is building the 299-hectare park in Ba Vi commune, located 60km west of the capital. The tropical-style project sits entirely outside the protected forest boundaries of Ba Vi National Park. The site covers an area 2.4 times larger than Mandai Wildlife Reserve in Singapore and nearly half the size of San Diego Zoo Safari Park in the United States.
Designed by US-based firm PGAV Destinations, the park allocates 81.8% of its footprint to greenery and water features to create ecological corridors. The project comprises an Animal Rehabilitation and Care Area, international-standard animal shows, recreational zones, and a clinical research and education area for student field trips. Upon completion, the destination aims to attract 6 million visitors per year.
The development aligns with Politburo Resolution 26-NQ/TW and the Hanoi Capital City Master Plan’s 100-year vision. Positioned along the Thang Long/Ho Tay – Ba Vi Boulevard axis, the site functions as a green buffer zone and growth hub for western Hanoi.
The project will generate 400 to 500 construction jobs and between 700 and 1,000 operational roles, alongside wider opportunities in local hospitality, transport and speciality product sales.
A representative from Sun Group shared: “Ba Vi Safari Park is not just a tourism project, but also a conservation space, reminding the younger generation of the lesson of preserving the natural ecosystem. We will focus our resources on developing the project in harmony with the landscape, prioritising green spaces, organising habitats suitable for animals, and creating diverse experiences for visitors. Sun Group wishes to partner with the local community to preserve cultural identity and achieve sustainable development.”
