Hyatt Hotels Corporation has launched Masana Algarve, marking the first appearance of the Destination by Hyatt brand in Portugal. The new resort is located in the coastal area of Olhos de Água within Albufeira. This opening follows recent Hyatt activity in Lisbon and Madeira. It forms part of a larger strategic plan to triple the company’s room count in Portugal by 2027.
The property consists of 33 residences including one- and two-bedroom suites and villas. These units feature garden, pool or sea views and are equipped with Bosch kitchens and Create Brand appliances. The design aims to provide a high-end residential experience suitable for longer stays. Natural materials and earthy tones are used throughout the interiors to reflect the local landscape of the Algarve.
“We are thrilled to welcome Masana Algarve to our diverse and growing European brand portfolio. The hotel embodies the spirit of the Destination by Hyatt brand by capturing the soul and natural beauty of Portugal’s Algarve coast,” said Manuel Melenchon, Managing Director South – Hyatt EAME. “With vibrant dining experiences, spacious villas and apartments, and premium spa facilities, Masana Algarve offers an ideal retreat for couples and families seeking personalized service, carefully curated moments and natural design inspired by its surrounding.”
On-site dining is managed by TUPUQ and includes two distinct venues. Casa da Praia serves as a daytime spot for breakfast and lunch by the pool. In the evening, the TUPUQ Restaurant & Bar opens on the rooftop, offering Mediterranean flavours and cocktails. For wellness, the resort provides a fitness centre with Technogym equipment and a spa featuring a sauna, hammam and Thalgo products. There are also two outdoor pools set within the grounds.
Guests at the resort have access to a dedicated Guest Experience Manager to coordinate their stay. Nearby attractions include the beaches of Olhos de Água and Maria Luísa as well as Albufeira Old Town. The project aims to combine the privacy of a home with the service standards of a luxury hotel.
