Residential hospitality did not emerge from theory or trend forecasting. It emerged from watching how people were actually living, moving and navigating city living.
Across global cities, a clear pattern began to emerge. Students, professionals, commuters and business travellers were falling between two rigid systems. Hotels had become expensive and inflexible, while residential rentals demanded long-term commitments and high upfront costs that no longer suited a mobile generation.
The response was a new hybrid model: residential hospitality, designed around flexibility, community and ease of access. Strategic Housing Group has been at the forefront of defining, operating and scaling this model globally.
At its core, residential hospitality offers flexible stays, from a single night to an entire year. Units are fully furnished, professionally managed and serviced, allowing residents to arrive ready to live rather than having to set up.
The units range from private studios to cluster apartments with shared kitchens and lounges, supported by shared amenities such as co-working lounges, social kitchens, community spaces and lifestyle-focused gyms.
What differentiates residential hospitality is not flexibility alone, but access to quality and lifestyle delivered with consistency at scale.

Delivering this balance requires a long-term perspective focused on sustainability, operational efficiency, and resident loyalty.
From a market standpoint, residential hospitality aligns with long-term global shifts. City populations continue to grow, mobility is increasing and expectations around design and service are rising.
Strategic Housing Group validated this model early in Dubai through the launch of The Myriad and URBN Living. In a city where a rapidly growing student population lacked purpose-built accommodation and professionals faced rising rents, rigid lease structures and increasing hotel prices, both brands demonstrated how residential hospitality could be delivered at scale.
Building on this foundation, SHG’s expansion into Saudi Arabia was formalised through the launch of Dedicated Housing Company (DHC), a partnership between Sumou Global Investment (SGI), Majd Investment and Strategic Housing Group. Through this platform, the model has expanded across Riyadh and key Saudi centres, with further development of the brands across Africa and select international markets.
The Myriad was created as a purpose-built student living platform, setting new benchmarks for safety, quality and community-driven experiences. URBN Living followed as a co-living and residential hospitality brand for professionals, offering flexible stays, service-led living and lifestyle-focused environments in city-centre hubs. Together, these brands form the foundation of SHG’s global residential hospitality strategy.
While The Myriad has established itself as a global leader within student living, URBN Living carries a broader ambition. It aims to evolve beyond a brand into a familiar city living reference point. A place people refer to instinctively, not just somewhere to stay, but somewhere that fits seamlessly.
This is not a trend-driven model. Residential hospitality is a practical, human response to mobility and the evolving definition of home. Through Strategic Housing Group, it is being scaled globally, offering accessibility without compromise, community without intrusion and quality without excess.
