Developer Nakheel, part of Dubai Holding Real Estate, has issued a main construction contract valued at over AED 800 million to Metac General Contracting Co.

The contract targets Phases 1 and 3 of Bay Grove Residences, situated on Dubai Islands. Under the agreement, Metac will build 537 homes, ranging from one to four bedrooms, spread across seven residential structures. Phase 1 accounts for 296 properties within four buildings, while Phase 3 covers 241 homes across three buildings. Main construction works are expected to finish in late 2028.

In addition to the residential units, the project scope includes basement works, essential infrastructure and facilities such as swimming pools, sports courts and a fitness centre.

The Bay Grove Residences layout includes pedestrian pathways, cycling tracks and access to Crystal Beach. When fully completed, the master development will contain 1,154 homes in 15 residential buildings. Planning for the remaining 617 units across Phases 2 and 4 is under way, with further contractor appointments expected in due course.

Dubai Islands lies off the coast of Deira and forms part of the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan. The development spans five islands and over 20 kilometres of coastline, incorporating green spaces, golf courses, hotels, cultural destinations and residential zones along the Arabian Gulf.
