Hilton has launched Undergraduate by Hilton, a new upper-midscale hotel brand targeting university and college towns. Designed to complement the Graduate by Hilton chain, the brand features a flexible development model for new builds and conversions. Hilton aims to open the first property in 2027, with a long-term expansion target of 400 to 500 hotels globally.
Hilton has announced plans to introduce its premium economy brand, Spark by Hilton, to Italy following an agreement with ELE Spa. The 118-room Spark by Hilton Milan Linate Airport is scheduled to open later this year, situated near the terminal. This property will be the eleventh Hilton brand to establish a presence or enter the development pipeline across Italy.
Frasers Hospitality has announced the soft opening of Capri by Fraser in George Town, Penang. Located at 31 Jalan Magazine near the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the 22-storey property marks the brand's debut in the region. The hotel features 248 rooms and residences, integrated heritage architecture and partnerships with local artists and food brands to establish a new social hub.
Hospitality leader Accor has launched a five year global eco-initiative to test and scale resource-saving technologies across its international network. The project targets the validation of over 100 environmental systems by 2030, beginning with an intense operational focus on commercial water efficiency. Partnering with non-profit Water Unite, the company will pilot advanced recycling and reuse systems across its portfolio.
Modon Holding has partnered with Montage Hotels & Resorts to launch a luxury resort and residential development on Egypt's Mediterranean coast. The project will feature 200 rooms alongside 96 exclusive branded villas for purchase within the Wadi Yemm precinct. Serving as part of the USD 35 billion Ras El Hekma mega project, the development introduces high-end international hospitality to the region.
Marriott International is set to transform Lima’s hospitality sector with two major luxury hotel conversions by 2028. The Ritz-Carlton will debut in Miraflores while a new JW Marriott will open in the San Isidro business district. These developments highlight Lima’s rising status as a premier global destination and reflect Marriott’s continued investment in high-end tourism across South America.
