IHG Hotels & Resorts has expanded its luxury presence in Taiwan with the launch of InterContinental Taipei, developed alongside partner Farglory Group.

Situated in the Xinyi District at the centre of the Taipei Dome complex, the flagship 347-room hotel provides access to local corporate, cultural and entertainment hubs. The opening coincides with the 80th anniversary of the InterContinental Hotels & Resorts brand.

Facilities at the property include seven distinct food and beverage venues, featuring outlets directed by international chef Akira Back. The site also houses flexible event venues, an indoor swimming pool, a gym and Club InterContinental.

Standard entry-level accommodation spans approximately 38 square metres, with selected guestrooms offering views of Taipei 101. Residential suites start from around 76 square metres and feature dedicated dining spaces, complete kitchens and in-suite laundry setups.

Design across the property incorporates themes based on local heritage and historical architecture under an “In Taipei, For Taipei” concept. This design direction extends from artistic installations in the entrance lobby to musical details integrated within event areas.

Robbert Manussen, Area General Manager, Luxury & Lifestyle, Taiwan market, IHG, and General Manager of InterContinental Taipei, said: “Taipei is a city of extraordinary energy and modernity, but also one defined by a distinctive sense of warmth and an exceptionally rich way of life. Our ambition is for InterContinental Taipei to be more than a hotel in Taipei; it should feel like a hotel that belongs to Taipei. We want the hotel to become a gateway into the city: a place where international travelers can experience Taipei more deeply, and where local guests can discover new ways to enjoy the city they call home.”

The launch marks the second InterContinental venture between IHG and Farglory Group following InterContinental Kaohsiung. The two firms have also agreed a deal for Hualien Farglory Hotel, Vignette Collection.

The new hotel joins an established regional portfolio that includes InterContinental Kaohsiung, InterContinental Taichung and InterContinental New Taipei Hot Spring. IHG expressed ongoing confidence in the local hospitality market, citing demand for experience-driven travel options and rich cultural heritage.
